i need help.

i have a problem. i really do. today i sort of accidentally bought the most expensive purse that i have ever bought. all of the purses i have are pretty cheap. you know, target kind or whatever. i love target. don't get me wrong. but today i felt like a big girl and actually spent too much money on a purse. to be honest i am not quite sure what i was thinking. i had one of those days. i was stressed. i went to the mall on my lunch break. i had been wanting a new purse for a while because my last one permanently smells like campfire smoke. and i looked, and didn't find anything. and i ended up buying some hair product that i probably spent way too much on. i am a sucker when people say "you need this girl! trust me!" okay. sold. that is not a good trait. but oh well.

i was walking out of nordstrom. somewhat sad. then i saw the sale rack. and this purse. and i couldn't stop staring at it. and it was way more than i ever wanted it to be. i have been wanting this color of a purse for a long time. one that didn't look too shiny and plastic. and the room got silent, and the world started spinning. and i knew this was the purse for me. sean says that is what happened when he realized he loved me. you can read his story about that here. anyway, i looked at the discounted price. and it was still a lot. and then the sales lady came over and said "can i help you?" and i said "yes. can you take this purse away from me before i buy it because if you don't it will be the most expensive purse that i have ever bought." and she said "oh i just love that purse." and then this other random lady was like "ohhhh... you can never spend too much on a purse that you love. when you find the right one. you just know."

i guess i have never found the right one. until now. and just like that i was sold. so then i bought it and cried a little and then called sean and told him not to kill me. but that i had to have it because it was the cutest thing ever and the inside was so adorable and it had all these cool pockets and it was totally on sale and i got such a good deal on it and i totally made it sound like the purse was like a million dollars so when he guessed a price and i said it was less... he was happy. so that is they key folks. it worked. and he was relieved that it was a million dollars. and there you have it. my newest purchase that i promise you i probably shouldn't have bought but don't even care. it's like when i bought mosey. totally impulsive. but one of the best decisions that i ever made. and of course i didn't ask sean before i bought it. but he loves it, and it's our purse. because he always makes me hold his stuff. so really its like double the bang for the buck. does that phrase make sense? oh well. i did it. and i will probably never buy another purse for a million years. good thing mustard yellow never goes out of style...oh...wait...

Photobucket

it is my baby. because it was practically the same price as a baby. and for the record? i do not make a lot of money. i am just crazy. oh well. the purse is a brand called "the sak". never heard of it. but i love it. and i have never ever bought anything at nordstrom except tights and chais and cookies.. i guess there is a first time for everything right? oh and in honor of my new purse i had to change the colors on the blog. it just seemed appropriate. please make me feel better and tell me that i am not the only one who has done something like this??? oh dear, why am i blogging about a purse?

CHLOE!! that purse is adorable, I love it!!

I have a purse obsession, and always spend lots of money on purses, its a bad bad habit!! I love them though.

and you know how i feel about mustard yellow, I APPROVE 100% on the blog color and purse, and ummm your wallet that I see.... SO cute, show us a better pic and where got it from!

I can guarantee you I have spent more on purses, jeans, hair products and make up/face products than you would ever care to know. I am absolutely terrible when it comes to that stuff. I was always into the cheap stuff from walmart and target- I love it and think it is great. But Nordstrom and Clinique and Fossil products are my downfall. We should compare prices and I bet I would win. *sigh* I am lucky that Scott hasn't left me yet...

And PS- cutest purse ever. I totally love the mustard yellow color. SOOOO adorable. Good find :)

Good job sister! If you hadn't of bought it it would have haunted your thoughts and dreams till you went back and bought it anyway- it is destiny! It is super cute and you can never go wrong with Nordstroms they take back anything- so in 4 years when it wears out you can take it back for a new one. So in that case it ends up being an inexpensive purse:)

you deserve to splurge once in a while! don't beat yourself up about it...it could be worse, ya know. you could have loved it in the store and then once you bought fell out of love with it.

Oooooh Chloe, that is a beautiful beautiful purse.

Um... does my wedding dress count? I saw it in the window and had to try it on. So I did without asking the price. And I fell in love. And I had to have it despite the fact that it was over my budget.

I still love that dress. I wonder if they're let me wear it to work. Hmmm...

im going to say that purse is most definitely worth it! and don't worry... you are NOT alone in this. I don't even need someone else telling me "you need this" i just have to see something i want and its a matter of seconds before i've convinced myself that i absolutely NEED it. oh what a problem it is...

Chloe, I cannot offer any comforting advice. You probably have an idea of how many 300 dollars purses I own.

Totally adorable, I completely approve.

IT IS BEAUTIFUL! &that is my favorite color, it will not go out of style ever.
P.S. Buying a well made more expensive purse CAN save you money in the long run, because they last so much longer then the cheaper made ones, AND you love it oh so much more.
TOTALLY worth the splurge :)

Love it! I too have a purse addiction problem. It is not a problem if you can admit it, right? If you buy another one tomorrow than you may have a problem :)

you are cute and so is your purse. if it makes you feel any better, i once bought a pair of teal, knee high boots with five inch wooden heels simply because someone tried on my size at the store i worked at and when they put them on, i got totally jel and when they didn't come back for them by the end of my shift, i bought them before they could come back. did i mention they were like $200, with my discount? you are not alone. :)

love, love, love the color. if you haven't noticed, my blog is trying to become that color, but freaking picnik and blogger always make it look too green or brown. but i'm working on it. and my new bedspread is that color. and i just posted about it. and i say, go you. who cares. who cares if it was a lot. i like it. way cute.

so i published that post and then thought of stuff i wanted to add and thought "someone is gonna read this and miss half this post" and then i got your comment. freak. i always do that. not that the second half was important, but you know what i mean. annoying. and thanks about the header. i don't love it. i can't decide what i'm doing with my life. or actually just with my blog. but same thing i guess.

Such a cute purse!! I can totally relate! And making a dramatic intro is the best way to have them go easier on you! Although now when I have spontanious buys Race ends up making me return most things..no fun:/
So like a year ago my mom had this dog treat jar that we kept dog biscuits in and my klutzy husband(he breaks everything he touches)shattered it.. when my mom heard the noise and walked in my sister and I made up this dramatic story on how Race got really mad at me and threw it at my head.. my mom being super gullible believed every word of it and got all somber and was relieved when we told her he just dropped it!

probably one of those "you would have had to have been there" stories.. but it was funny!

I love it! I know what you mean when you say that one purse stands out..totally happened to me last summer. I found it online, and when I went to NYC, I was determined to find it, and luckily (or unluckily for my bank account) I did find it the second time I went. It's still my absolute favorite and while yes, it was way too much money, I don't regret it! :)

Such a cute purse!!!! I have the same issue too when I go to the mall, I have to buy like everything I see that's cute and then fret over it later. But sometimes something is definitely worth it. Like your purse. Or my new perfumes/makeup/lotion/everything under the stars.

:0)

That purse is super cute. I totally hate when you see something like that and it's super expensive you just have to have it. That's when I usually ask for it for my birthday. That's how I got the most expensive pair of shoes I own...they're from Nordstrom too and they're madden heels and they're the most comfortable heels I own. Sean should be happy, you're making his purse stylish...really, it's like you found the best purse possible so instead of having to buy him a purse for his crap, and you a purse, you found one that will let you hold his things so really, it was just logical, right? Man, apparently Nordstrom is like an expensive death hole. And apparently I do wait until my birthday to ask for whatever is expensive that I want...then they can't get mad at you for spending too much, because it's your birthday!

Nah girl, that is worth it. Good job on being sneaky about your presentation, though! Ha ha I'll have to file that one away...

my mom gave me a REAL leather yellow bag a few years ago and i use that thing all the time-I wear it with nice dresses even because it's a nice expensive bag that looks good with everything.

every girl needs an expensive bag.

i'm ashamed to say that i'm a 28 year old woman who still hasn't gotten a nice purse. i have lots of cheapos, but i long for a nice, expensive bag.

one time i was watching this show about fashion, and they said that you can't think about how much it costs all at once, you have to think about how many days of the year you'll use it, and that will tell you how much it costs a day to use it. so it ends up not being so expensive!

i think that is a fabulous purchase and you shouldn't feel bad about it! it will be your best friend for a long time and make it worth it's cost. i promise you!

I have one that's expensive too...and I love and cherish it every single time I'm wearing it. :D It's my one and only expensive bag, so your awesome looking one now is going to be yours. And it's true...when you love a bag, it can never be too expensive. It's your baby! ;) It will be yours for a very long time!!!! :D

Have a splendid day.

hahah my new morning plan is to immediately check your blog bc you just made my day. i had a bad day the other day and seriously contemplated driving to the coach outlet because i knew all the ickiness of the day would fade away. but then i was too lazy to drive far soooo it wasnt a good combination. il ove the purse, i love mustard yellow, i love your impulsiveness. it's the only way to live life:)

an expensive purse will last you a lifetime. when i am trying to justify these things i tell myself they will one day be a family heirloom (clutching at straws!!) and then i feel its okay.

I have a few expensive ones... my first one was a gorgeous aqua leather and baby pink lining. I spilt tomato soup AND coffee in it the first week i had it.
The next one i bought was a gorgeous pink suede wtih pink metallic dots... i wore it with a black dress and the black rubbed off of the suede and destroyed the colour.
Lesson learnt.
:) Enjoy your bag- you deserve it!

I have an opinion that there are three things you should be able to spend more money on than you normally would: 1. jeans 2. face moisturizer (Philosophy, Hope in a Jar= amazing) and 3. PURSES! and sometimes shoes.

That purse is so cute and totally worth it! Good work!

your purse is gorgeous! i back you up 100%! you need to splurge once in awhile... especially on things like jeans and purses that you'll wear over and over again. i've had way too many impulsive purchases too. and i have the same philosophy with my sister as you have with your husband. me and my sister share clothes sometimes. so its like a two for the price of one deal!
