and some more...

so i know this is kind of random. to be posting some bridals again but i need to get some of these up here since i don't scrapbook. you may have heard me say this before but i had my bridals taken twice. once with sean and it was a little more formal. then after i got married i went out again and had some more taken. with just me. sean didn't feel obligated anymore since we had already sealed the deal. haha. i wanted to wear my hair down, with no jewelry. i wanted to be able to lay down in my dress. you know, be a little bit more casual. because that is more my style to be honest. haha. i probably would have gotten married in sweats if i could have. just kidding. sorta. also, our first set of bridals were taken in february and it was freezing! we got to do these ones in october and it was perfect. i loved the colorful leaves and the blowing wind. i decided i should probably just have bridals taken in every season just for the heck of it. you know, to make the dress worth it. haha i am only sort of kidding.

anyway. my sister maddie and my awesome friend mikki both took pictures of me at BOTH of these shoots. how cool are they? they are both so incredibly talented and i felt so blessed and lucky to be able to work with such awesome people. not only did i get to work with them, but mikki's husband braydon as well. they are such an awesome photographer team. you need to check out their website. anyway, after the whole blogging disaster happened and i lost all my pictures i dreaded re-posting everything. but i decided to do it anyway. then i had realized that i never put up the ones that mikki took. and then i could not find the disc anywhere when i was doing that wedding post challenge before my 2nd anniversary. i was devastated! then i remembered that i put them on facebook (my back up hard drive if you will). but all of the pictures came up as thumbnails.. ahh! way too small. what was i to do?

well this week.. i finally found the disc in my desk at work. i was so happy. so here i am finally now just posting the pictures that mikki platt and her husband braydon took. i hope they know how much these mean to me. i love them so much and am so grateful to have such awesome, talented friends. i feel silly getting my picture taken. but it was so much fun. and i feel silly posting pictures of myself, but i can't not post these because they did such a great job and they deserve the credit! they were so great to work with. i would recommend them, my sister maddie, and brother in law devin to anyone in a heartbeat. they are all fantastic. and mikki? we really miss you here at work! i hope all is well with you and your cute little family! also, these pictures are copyrighted by mikki platt so please do not copy them or take them. thanks!

the dress.

# 7 of the wedding post challenge... (i am going to do # 6 with some other numbers for a combined post)

7. the dress: was it what you always imagined? did you have it made for you? white or ivory?

i loved my dress. it was from abella bridal. it was the "zolanda". it was ivory. it had lots of lace on it. i had it altered by a wonderful seamstress named shauna. she added eyelet vintage lace to the sleeves and collar/neck area and then she took the plain panel in the front (right where my cleavage would be) and added more lace to that area. i loved it because it made my dress a little bit different. she also did the bustle, and hemmed the bottom. i talk about my dress like i don't have it anymore. but i still do! in fact these pictures are from a second bridal shoot that my sister did for me. i wanted to wear my hair down and have no jewelry on. i wanted it to be a more natural shoot. i love how these turned out. mikki and her husband came along to and took some awesome pictures. i left that disc at work though so will have to post those ones later! anyway, was my dress what i imagined it to be? yes. but i guess i never really knew or had this vision of what i thought it would look like. i knew i wanted something timeless, and classic. something that maybe a daughter of my own wouldn't mind wearing someday. nothing to crazy or over the top. i guess we will find that out in 20 years or so! you never know then what we will think of styles now. regardless? i love my dress. the only thing that i would have done differently would be to have had the seamstress make the dress. she said she could have made the exact same dress for a fraction of the cost... dang. oh well! coulda, woulda, shoulda! ;)

bridals.

part 2 of # 5 of the wedding post challenge ....

5. engagement/bridal pictures: let's see em! (here is the bridals part)

What a busy, fun day this was. Sean and I had our bridals/groomals taken by Maddie and Mikki and her husband Braden.  They are all so talented and amazing! My cousin Tara did my hair, her and Maddie did my makeup, and Lee and my Mom came along to help with the shoot. Let me just tell you how awesome everything turned out. I had such a hard time even picking out of all of them. I feel so lucky to have such talented friends and family. Tara did such a great job on my hair, and Sean's sister Amanda made the most amazing hair clip out of some vintage flowers we found at an antique shop. If you ever need any cute little girl hair flowers, headbands, or bows, check out her website here. Anyway, here are just a few shots from the day! (from mikki and maddie)

here are some of mikkis!
