what a sweet surprise :)

today has been a great day. i won't lie, there were some things about it that i wasn't so happy about. but for the most part? wow, it has been good. it has been one of those days where i realize how incredibly blessed i am to have great friends and a fabulous husband. yesterday morning, when sean woke up, (i was still sleeping..should i have been up? yes.) he could tell that i had had a rough night. had had. that looks weird? how are you supposed to say that? i know julie or mindy will tell me :) let's face it. you guys don't read this because i am intelligent or because of my grammar, so moving on!

anyway, i hopped in the shower because it had been like 2-3 days, don't judge, i needed to wake up, and when i got out, sean had left me a note by my vanity where i do my make-up. i say vanity like it is super cool, but actually i bought it at target in the kids section for 20 dollars and it's a piece of crap but i love it because i put it all together by myself and i refuse to give it up. sure, i may have put some pieces together the wrong way, but oh well :)

wow i am going off on a lot of tangents. anyway, when i got out of the shower i saw the sweet note and it made my day. i guess there is just something about a thoughtful note that really gets to me. i would rather have that then a big huge box of cookies or baby elephants. and that is saying A LOT.

this morning, my fabulous friend and co-worker lee brought me a delicious drink. it made my morning. she also helped her brother fix up my computer last week. it is running like a champ, and i am so grateful to have such great friends. i work with 2 of my best friends. my twin sister maddie, and lee. i don't know if it could get any better than that.

when i got home from work, i had a lovely package waiting for me in the mail. it was from my amazing friend lauren. now i want to tell you a little bit about lauren. she is amazing. she lives in oregon, and has a wonderful husband named craig, and an awesome dog named marley. she teaches pre-school, and has an adorable blog. she is one of the sweetest people i've never met. we have become really close through email and blogs. some might think that is odd, but i wouldn't change anything about it. it reminds me of the movie julie and julia. when julia takes her friend with her to the train station to meet one of her other friends. julia's friend asks her what she looks like, and julia doesn't know because they have never ever met. they were pen-pals for years, and became best friends. i love that scene when they meet. anyway, lauren and her husband are possibly coming this way later this year, and i am so excited to get to meet her. she is a genuine, sweet, kind, beautiful person.

when i opened up the package this is what awaited me.

actually it had a beautiful green ribbon on it, but when i tried to re-create the bow, it didn't look that great. she wrote me the sweetest note, that actually brought tears to my eyes. and when i opened the box there was a beautiful necklace inside. i love it. it is perfect for me, and i have been trying to find something just like this and now i have it. i love it! i took some pictures to show her how much i love it.

i have made so many great friends through blogging. it has been such a neat way to document our life, and meet new amazing people along the way. i have become great friends with mindy. she is hilarious and cute and is about to have a sweet baby boy. i actually got to meet mindy and that was really neat. she is just as cute and funny and sweet in real life. her and her husband are an adorable couple! you should make sure to stop by her blog! i cannot wait until she has her little boy! she also always posts some yummy recipes that always make me want to stop blogging and go eat...

also, i have reconnected with an old co-worker of mine named Julie! she is hilarious. we worked together back in the day at Hogi Yogi. good times! she updates a lot and i love it. she is always posting about something so entertaining, and she is not only funny but is ridiculously smart! i love her so much and am so glad that i got to hang out with her a couple of months ago. she has big boobs and is beautiful. don't worry she is proud of the boobs! i love her.

also, i have a wonderful childhood friend named McKenna! she is living the dream right now. okay, the dream that i want... but she is living in Germany right now with her awesome husband. her blog is adorable, and she had the cutest giveaway last week that i am so sad i missed out on! anyway, it is so neat to her her stories about traveling, cooking, and photography. she does it all, and on top of that is incredibly beautiful, inside and out! you don't want to miss out on her blog!

anyway, there are so many more amazing people that i have gotten to know, or reconnect with through blogging. another one of my sweet friends is brittany. her and her husband grant are one of the most beautiful couples i have ever met. they are perfect for each other. i knew brittany in high school, but we never really got the chance to get to know each other. well if it weren't for our blogs? i might have never gotten the chance. let me just tell you, she is amazing. she is so talented and has the most incredible, classy style. not only is her style classy, but so is her personality. she is one of those people, that just by being around, makes you want to be a better person. she has this glow about her. and as cheesy as that sounds? it is the truth. i have never heard her say an unkind thing about anyone. i want to be more like her. she also makes the most adorable cloth flowers that can go with any outfit! i have 3 of them and i wear them all the time. anyway,  her husband grant is great too, and him and sean have become great friends. brittany and grant have such incredible taste, and their house is adorable. i am glad that we have become great friends :)

anyway, sorry this is kind of long and random, but i just wanted to acknowledge these people who have really affected my life. so many of you have, and i am going to try to spotlight someone every week. i have so many other people that i want to introduce you to because i know you will love them just as much as i do! i think this would be a cool thing for everyone to do. maybe call it like Spotlight Sunday or something. brag about a blog friend :) i am going to try to do that, and whoever wants to do it with me is welcome to!

i don't usually like to brag a lot, and i am in no way trying to say that my life is perfect, but today? it has been a good day, and i am just really grateful for what i do have and for all the great friends i have met..

oh and if you haven't entered the giveaway yet, go here!

and now we've met! :)

chloe, i am a twin! there is NO relationship like twin sisters. and you're so lucky to get to work with yours. It's so hard to be states away from mine because this is the first time we've been apart.

and that necklace? fabulous! (you are so pretty!) blogging is amazing. i just love connecting and actually have met my bestie through it. It sounds so funny to tell people about our soul mate connection because we've never actually met. No one gets me like her, it's really amazing. (and sounds so weird! ha)

i'm glad i've found your entertainingly sweet corner of the internet. xo

So I may secretly want to be your best friend ever...but shh, because it's a secret. It's kind of funny that I read almost all of those blogs, and you actually know them, and I just pretend that I know them. That is such a good idea though! And good for sundays, because it's probably bad to think this, because you're supposed to be good everyday, but you should be better on Sundays, and so you could be better by posting nice things about a blog friend. Alright, long comment, but good idea.

Chloe, you are just the coolest person, I swear! I have missed staying up to date with your blog and keeping up on my own. The holidays were just so crazy that as soon as they were over I wanted to do nothing but read!:) But it always puts a smile on my face when I see you've taken the time to leave a nice little comment. Thanks!:) And I think spotlighting a blog friend is a really great idea!

PS- I know Mindy too. We went to Snow together a few years ago, but didn't really get to know each other. Recently, I saw her blog and thought she was so funny and cute! It's so cool, like you said, how you can make friends through blogging.

so i was reading this post out loud to grant (usually what i do) and i got to the paragraph about us and totally lost it! yes and i do mean tears streaming down my face, choked up, couldn't keep reading and grant had to read the rest out loud. i am so overwhelmed by your compliments. the thing about you chloe IS i can like... feel that you really MEAN every word! and for some reason i can really let your compliments sink into my heart. i think you are so sweet and genuine and i can't tell you how much your friendship has meant to me. even if we get together and talk about superficial things, i just feel like we connect on some higher emotional level and i realize that sounds like i'm in love with you but that is because i am. anyway you make my heart bigger. you make blogging so much more fun. hope i see you soon. thanks for making me feel so good! i am lucky to have you as a friend!! you are the kind of friend EVERYONE wants! i love you!

Grant here: You're right, it does feel good to get a sweet note. I have had to get up stupid early this past week for my CNA training and Britt left me a sweet note on the door that made me love her even more. You guys are freakin rad. I want to shoot Sean's gun. I made 2 elephants. You have to come over to see them. Soon.

That was sweet of Sean to leave you a note! And then to receive a package from someone you have not met in person. And a necklace that you absolutely love?

I hope we get to know each other more! You can come out east to visit.

We are coming to Arizona and Utah in March. My father-in-law lives in Mesa, AZ. And I wanted to go to Salt Lake to the Temple. It will be so much fun!

i love the relationships that can be formed through blogging and the like. one of my very best friends is a girl named abby that i met through myspace about three years ago. we are so close, and i love it. i feel like i can tell her anything and everything and she would never judge me for it.
we finally met in person this past summer. i spent a week with her and it was one of the best times i've had. :)
i hope you get to meet lauren soon! that'd be so neat for you two.

i'm glad you had such a great day, girl!

You are way too sweet! Seriously. The things you said about me were way too nice. The thing I really love, though, is that I can tell you mean it. And you didn't just say the same things about everyone, it was totally personal. Thank you! I'm so glad we met through blogging! But I don't feel like we're JUST blogging friends, ya know? I mean I know that's how we met and mostly how we talk and whatever, but I feel like your my real friend. Like an actual friend. If that makes sense. Anyway..whatever. I don't know if I make sense. You're probably like uh...no. We're blogging friends. It stops there. ha. Anyway..I'm rambling..

You SO rock!!! Seriously, just by your one comment on my pity-post the other day you really changed my way of thinking and blogging. What a true inspiration you are!
