it's a christmas miracle!

we did it. we went into the overloaded christmas blow-up figurines lady's house. wow that is a mouthful. that's what she said. no she didn't say that. but i did. and i am really immature. anyway moving on.

we were driving by last night and noticed that she had a cardboard sign that said ....

"openhouse Dec. 20th 6-11pm"

it was as if our prayers had been answered. it truly was a christmas miracle!  how could we not go see the inside of her house!? so we went in. and it was the most AWESOME THING EVER. awesome enough that i had to caps those words. it was even better than i imagined. there were several decorated rooms. i learned that there are over $10,000 worth of blow-up figurines in her yard, some are over $300 each. all of them are insured. there are surveillance cameras watching them because apparently they have been cut/popped before. the police drive by nightly to check on them. the lady with her awesomely large hair served us cake, ham sandwiches, and punch. all while in her bathrobe. i was blown away. i wish you could have been there. there was stuff everywhere. it was so cool.

anyway, i loved every second of it. these pictures don't do it justice.
also, i didn't even get pictures of all the rooms. there were just too many.

stay tuned for my post on why christmas is cancelled. because i am angry.
it deserves it's own post.

Wow. That is amazing. I'm pretty sure Cori would kill me if I ever went that crazy about decorating for Christmas... maybe, if I do it gradually, he won't notice... ;)

what??? why is christmas cancelled???? i must know!

also.... this house is.....awesome!!! like... seriously amazing. i don't think i've ever seen that many tchotchkes in one place....and that couch completely enveloped in teddy bears....wow. i can't believe those blow up things cost so much money and i really can't believe they're insured! that's insane! i'm so excited you got to finally go in and see the christmas magic :).

also (i like to write also a lot).... i love that you bought a head wrap today too! we're like soul mates or something! wow...i just realized i'm using a lot of exclamation points today! and i'm not even hyper and watching elf! although i wish i was! ok....that's enough. but...seriously....when i read that you bought a head thing too i felt like we were twins or something. ok...maybe not but still...

and i'm totally still working the gus angle. don't worry. it's gonna happen. someone at work today said they know a kid named augustus and everybody calls him augie for short (like "oggie"), which i think would be super cute too as a nickname. oggie the doggie? i don't like it as much as gus, but it could always be an alternate bench type of nickname...you know...just to change it up. ok....now i'm rambling and using way too many elipses and exclamation points so i should probably go. hope you had fun watching elf and that sean liked it too. i think elf is a good segue into getting sean to realize the awesomeness that is will ferrell. ok. seriously. i'm done.

night lovely!

oh yeah, i would have wanted to go in there, too. i can't imagine living in such a place though. as much as i love christmas and its crazy decorations and all i just can't be around it for too long. love the fact she had an open house. some just don't do that, and don't want to share or so. thanks for sharing chloe... :) loved the pics.

That is an incredible amount of stuff in one person's house. She must have a huge storage building to keep it in off season!

Don't worry about Christmas gifts. The gym pass is cool if that is what Sean will use! I am like you. Never again should I buy a gym membership. Pavement is free!

Oh my....the house sure is...something! I can't believe she hosted an open house. I've seen some crazy decorated houses but have never heard of one hosting an open house. Wow!

That is a Christmas Miracle. I can't even believe someone has spent that much on their Christmas decorations. No wonder she leaves them up so long, they need to pay for themselves some how.

Oh. MY! I love it. Of course she was in her bathrobe! That makes the story all the more classic. I am not one inch surprised by that. And the ham sandwiches...I don't know. Just funny. Cameras? Police? Security? What is she, the Pope? Amazing. I'm so glad you got to experience Christmas blow-up figurine style.

Omg, you don't even understand how hard I'm laughing right now. The fact that the police have to drive by at night to make sure none of them got "Popped" haha!!! And then the serving ham sandwiches in a bathrobe. I mean she knew people might be coming into her home!!! WOW lol

oh my GOD. *shrieks*
I WANT ALL THOSE FLUFFY TOYS.
i had a teddy bear called Grizzly...I slept with him in my bed for years. then a few years later i got this feeling that there was a spirit inside him so i threw him away. haha i DON'T mean to freak you out. I'm just paranoid that way.

That woman is certifiable in a completely awesome way. The bathrobe is just the icing on that Christmas cake you got to eat. I can't imagine being so proud of my decorations that I'd hold an open house...that is priceless.
