ashby family day and i love our mothers.

today was a crazy, busy, but fun day! we started the day off with future sister in law, katie's bridal shower! i was actually incredibly late for it because getting moses ready for family pictures turned into more of a pain that i thought it would be. we didn't want to be stuck with him in the car for hours so i thought if i went towards the end of her shower it could work out. it did, but i was later than i planned to be. anyway, it was fun to stop by and see her and her sister. they are both getting married this month! how fun eh? i always thought it would be fun to have a double wedding with my twin.. someday... haha. TOTALLY KIDDING about the someday part. not about the double wedding part... anyway, her and her sister are so cute and i am so excited for them both!

after stopping by the shower sean and i headed over to his parents real quick, and then met up with maddie to take some practice shots for ashby family pictures. it was pretty bright out. we were hoping for it to be more overcast, since 1pm is not ideal for picture taking.. but we ended up finding some shady spots and i think that it went really well! maddie is such a great photographer. she doesn't just have a great eye.. she really knows the logistics of it. she does her research and knows all the functions on her camera and what she can do to counteract the bright sun and other stuff like that. she is really easy to work with and so sweet. she is working on a new website right now.. so when that is up and running i will be sure to send you all the link. i am so proud of her. she has put so much time and money into her business. she has always had a passion for photography and i have always been jealous of her talents. but not jealous in a bad way. i have said it before and i will say it again.. sean and i were both blessed with talented photographer siblings. anyway. the pictures went great, despite our naughty little dog. he didn't seem too excited about having to wear a bandanna.. (trust me, it was worth it though..so cute) and we could not get him behave unless he was wearing his gentle leader collar. so most of the pictures he has that on. oh well! hopefully some of the shots turned out good.. i hope he didn't ruin all of them! i'll be sure to post the pics when we get them back! thanks maddie!

after pictures we headed home and relaxed for a bit. then we had to run some errands and then headed over to my sister in law amanda's house for her husband jason's birthday party! lots of people were there and we ate some delicious food and played minute to win it! it was a lot of fun. after almost everyone left... sean, amanda, and i played nerts. it was so much fun. then we came home and sean has been passed out ever since. he has allergies real bad right now and the benadryl knocks him out. we got him a new medicine today though and he will try it out tomorrow..

moses was pretty tuckered out after family pictures. he is sound asleep under our bed as i am typing this.

anyway. the party was so fun. my nieces and nephew are so cute. they insisted on taking some pictures with my camera. the ones they took are the ones with me in them. besides the last few that sean took. the one where i am picking my nose? well jason's dad told kade to stick his finger in his nose to make him laugh. he wouldn't do it so i said i would do it if he would do it. so there you go! i just want to say that i love both of our families. today was such a fun day. i look forward to spending more time with our families tomorrow for mothers day. or should i say today now that it is past midnight? anyway. we have both been blessed with such wonderful mothers. if they read this? i want them to know that. we both love you both so very much. thank you for being such incredible examples to us.

vicki? thank you for raising the most incredible son on the planet. he is perfect for me in every way. and not only did you raise one amazing son? you raised three. and a fantastic daughter who is one of my best friends. you guys did a great job. i love your energetic, active, kind, loving personality. i think that if the world were made up of more people like you? we would be in a lot better situation. things would be accomplished and the world would be a better place. i love your "get up and go" attitude. i love that sean has so many of your amazing qualities. i really love you and am so blessed to have you as a mother in law. sean thinks the world of you and i know he is a momma's boy at heart.

and my mother? oh mom. i just adore you. you are one of my best friends. i don't even know how to explain how much i love you. you have always stood by me. no matter what. you are the most generous, sweet, kind, funny person that i know. i would have no complaints if i ended up just like you. thank you for being so good to us kids. we are so lucky. i love you so much and hope that you never forget that. you have raised some pretty darn good kids. i guess i turned out okay too... ;) i love you! i wish there were more people in the world like you. you have never let me down.

happy mothers day! also? i hope everyone has had a great weekend! i better get some sleep.. 9:00 church comes early.. especially for me...
