today we added a new member to our family. . .
bahhh!! isn't she adorable??
okay not really. don't have a heart attack mom. :)
but i texted sean these pictures and told him it was the newest member of our family. this is how are conversation went:
sean: "no way! you're messin with me aren't ya?"
chloe: "she is going to protect me."
sean: "whose dog is it?"
(i am still trying to text him back but he keeps sending messages)
sean: "but chlo, he is so little."
sean: "he's freakin' cute though. are you being serious?"
"why would i joke about something so serious as this precious little creature? and he is a she. and she is named charlie. and charlie is going to get pretty big. and she is awesome. so you should want me to be serious."
then i tried to change the subject so i said, "how's the drive?"
then he called me and said, "ARE YOU BEING SERIOUS?"
i finally said, "do you really think i would buy a puppy without telling you?"
his response?
"absolutely yes. i think you would."
hmmmm.. yeah he is probably right. sean calls me before he buys a pack of gum. just to make sure i am okay with that. i don't expect him to at all. actually, today he called me to let me know that he purposely left his keys on the nightstand. just so that i was aware. i guess?
sean will walk into the bedroom while i am in there lounging in bed, look all around the mess in the room, then look at me, and i will say, "oh, just so you know it's a mess in here." that is how i do it.
i'll go shopping at the mall, spend way too much money and text sean after and say, "don't hate me.."
then he will say, "oh no. how much did you spend?"
i don't really spend a lot on clothes. but i guess i just don't really think about calling him before i make those purchases. maybe i am secretly hoping he just won't notice. maybe he usually doesn't so it all works out. but then he is so considerate and calls me and then i feel guilty because he probably has no idea how much money i actually spend on "stupid/useless but totally awesome shiny things that i have to have".
we have this problem when we grocery shop too. i am terrible. absolutely terrible. i will manage to spend like 2 hours and $100 and not have anything that will make an actual meal. do we have loads of snacks and treats and make-up and air fresheners and $5 movies? yes. but i manage to somehow get everything that we don't really need. well i need it. but whatever.
sean will go to the store and spend 30 minutes and $40 and have enough food to make 37 different meals. i don't get it.
i can't go to target and NOT spend over $100. i did once..i spent $99 and it was probably one of my most happy moments in my life.
hmmm.. maybe i need to find some bigger dreams...
*by the way, the puppy belongs to a girl that i work with. i am so jealous*

SO WHO IS THIS ADORABLE BABY, THEN?? I LOVE HER.
Too funny Im like that about shopping too..
and awww I wub that doggy!!!
haha! I probably wouldn't consult when I went shopping. Ask when I model it for him?
And at least he is dragged along to the mall... he should be thankful for that.
And I totally agree with the target thing! I went in for floss today. Just floss. Nothing else. Somehow I spent over 60 dollars. Including a dress and shoes.
There must be something about that store...
Haha! your husbands response to that was too funny! I actually laughed out loud a little. I have a history of brining home adorable kitties without consulting anyone! Its terrible, but has worked so well.
Oh my gosh she is PRECIOUS!
You two should totally get a dog. They're wonderful and crazy and just absolutely the most fun EVER!
Oh man I was SO excited for you!! That puppy is sooo cute! It's funny how they become your baby. So tell your hubby it's either a puppy or baby haha!! Joking. They're not really expensive if that's what you're worried about. Glad to know I'm not the only one who goes to the store to buy food and come out with nothing. My hubby considers chocolate chip cookie dough & brownie mix nothing... psh what does he know?
Ugh, Target is my downfall.
I LOVE the puppy pictures. It looks juxt like my doggie when he was a baby. Ohhhh how I miss that.
i love this post. so normal, everyday scenario. and you so should get a puppy! she is soo cute!

I totally thought you bought the dog. I was almost freaking out. The dog is cute, but I'm not an animal fan. Michael says when we have a house we'll have a dog. I say no. I like that Sean thought it was cute. That cracks me up. And I like that he called you to tell you about the keys. I am so the Sean of our relationship on that stuff. Actually, we're both like that. I call Michael before i pee. Not really. But before I buy anything I call him. Not really to ask, just to check, ya know? I don't buy anything without discussing it with him. When we got married we were like "we should talk about anything over $50" or something like that. But really if it's over 50 cents I call. I'm like "Do you care if I grab Subway for lunch" and he is always like "get real." I know. I'm ridiculous.
She looks like baby Bucky (my ex's pup) I'm going to have to visit him soon and take him to the puppy park. A dog is a NEED not a WANT. Seriously, who's going to protect you when Sean is off spending your anniversary somewhere else? JK :)
Ah. Puppies will be everyone's downfall!
bahaha chloe my love... we are THE SAME PERSON. seriously.
I laughed so hard reading this post!!! That pup is adorable, and I love how you said she was going to protect you... that is the main reason why I want a puppy :) Also, you have met your twin when it comes to grocery shopping... I spent 11 dollars on cauliflower the other day...CAULIFLOWER... haha Marc just looked at me like I was nuts ;P it was pretty great! Any who, lovely sweet Chloe... wish we lived closer so we can go grocery shopping and spend all of our money!! XO
Such a cute pup! I'm the exact same when I shop! We have soo much snack food and I stock pile on makeup, cleaning supplies, candy that goes on sale after a holiday, bascially anything on sale.. I live right by a target and costco which can sometimes be dangerous!
Dude, Chloe, I was getting so jealous.
Target is my "ultimate fail." I always come out with a bunch of stuff I LOVE and don't need/have space for.
CHARLIE! I still haven't seen her yet. My little Natalie is going to FREAK when she sees her. Steph really brought her to work!? I bet John had a heartattack with the new carpet... ha!
What a sweet little puppy!
Funny to trick Sean...I did something like that to Cori once. Except I only sent a message, it said "we're on life flight" and as I'm trying to send him a picture of me and the kids playing on the old life flight helicopter at Discovery Gatewaty he's texting and calling, thinking I'm actually on the real thing, and trying to find out where I'm headed. He wanted to kill me after that. And I felt like a jerk. Stupid picture, if it had only sent faster...
As for shopping, I find that if a make a meal plan and a grocery list of the things I need for those meals, and then only get what is on the list, that I don't spend so much. But sometimes you just have to get treats. (Especially how Smiths has had the big bags of m&ms like at Costco, but for less. You can't pass deals like that up!)
eep, I would actually love it if my boyfriend sent me a picture saying he had brought a puppy :) and I dont think he would be surprised if I brought one home either lol.
So adorable! I think you two need to get one! :)
Hilarious and something I would do. Thank God L and I have seperate accounts because he may die if he sees the money I spend on clothes sometimes. Love the puppy!
oooomg I got So excited!!! I really believed you, so I don't blame Sean for believing you... TOO CUTE
A puppy would make a great anniversary gift. Especially since your hubby is away on your 1st anniversary! Yes I think that is a perfect gift:)
oh girl i missed you and your funny posts. they so cheer me up. and ya know what, we're so alike it's crazy. ;) every time i go to target i can't spend less than $100 because it's just the way it is. everything calls my name and i hear it and i see it and i need it apparently and then wow...some money is spent. :) can't wait for my next trip to target. woohoo. haha. and yeah, the grocery store thing...i can buy lots but nothing really makes a decent meal...oh well. i'm enjoying life with whatever i'm buying...haha. ;)
happy thursday lovely.
and yay on the puppy love. absolutely adorable. she's so cute i want one now.
aw!!!! the pup is so cute!!
i have the same issues with target. i used to go 2-3 times a week!! now i only get to get 1-2 times a month :(
you absolutely crack me up! i do the same thing in Target!! $99 would have been the highlight of my life too, but it hasn't happened. yet.
my brother-in-law (Todd) got a puppy just like that one for christmas from his wife! it's a girl and she is really cute! her name is sadie. haha! and HOLY I love target, I seriously have to limit myself from going there cause I will spend money or I will see something that I know I shouldn't buy and I will dream about it and wish it were mine... haha it is NOT good!
I was so excited, I thought that was really your puppy! You guys really should get a dog - we've only had Onyx for 5 weeks, but already he makes life so much better and funnier!
hahahahahaha. your grocery shopping summary is hilarious. "stupid useless but totally awesome shiny things that o have to have"... i love you. this post really made me want to go shop at target with you.... target is the bomb.com
I don't even like dogs, but he is adorable!! And I'm totally in the Target boat with you, I stop there nearly every night on my way home from work. Target Anonymous .. does that exist?! I think I need to go...
Btw, I gave you the Happy 101 Award today on my blog. I absolutely adore your blog & love reading all of your posts. You are such a sweetheart!
Awwwww... that puppy is SO cute! imagine just bringing that little bub home?
Adorable!
That is one cute puppy! What kind is she?
I rarely leave the grocery store without spending under $100 either!
oh chloe! so cute. i heart you so much. you are so amazing and funny. love you!
I love that he fully believes you would get a dog without talking to him. And I love the dog...and maybe want to steal her. So cute. I used to be so so bad at grocery shopping, we would just wander all over and grab whatever and grab random things for meals...well, that starts to suck real bad real soon when your husband wants left overs for lunch and you have nothing but pringles in the house. So even though I hate planning meals more than anything, I do it. It makes grocery shopping a lot easier. Also, I got to my dad's every sunday and steal his coupon thingies out of the paper and clip them, and since we only go real grocery shopping 1-2 times a month, by the time we go I have a lot of coupons. I saved $20 on Monday, how amazing is that?! sigh, long post. I hope you will enjoy your anniversary sean-less weekend!
That is so weird because I was looking on craigslist last night and found a chihuahua that I really want but it's a huge decision to make, ahh!!
I'm DEFINITELY the same way as you are with shopping and not getting anything that will make a meal. It's so frustrating! That's where all our money is going towards. I'm jealous of those people who have the fridge & pantry closet stocked with 3289743 different things to make tons of meals daily.
Who's dog is it then?
that pup is BEAUTIFUL. looove her.
and i'm totally the same way. my poor future mr.. is going to have to be a patient one! spending and me = love. plain and simple.
Cutest little puppy! I really thought you had brought her home...but what a funny conversation between the two of you! Ha ha I love it.
By the way, I've just found your site (friend of a friend of a friend of a friend, or something...you know how that goes), and I love it!
I wish it wasn't after midnight already, so I would have more time just to look around tonight....oh well...See you around!
