. . . . the cattle drive . . . .
saturday morning we got up and ate a delicious breakfast. i am not used to waking up early on saturday mornings so excuse my really tired face in that first picture haha. after breakfast we started the cattle drive. boy, i have been on a horse before. but nothing like this. we left at 9:30 and went and searched for the cattle. we were going all the way up the mountain searching for them. we found them after about an hour and a half and then had to bring them back to the ranch. it was so much harder than i thought it would be. but it was so much fun! the cows would try to run off and take shortcuts and someone would have to go chase them. haha. i loved it. we had to shout out and make noise to try and get them to follow the rest of the cows. the best part about this was getting to do this with brandon's friend amy and her sister sarah. they were seriously so awesome. we had such a blast with them and laughed like the whole time. i am glad i got to know them better!
we got back around 12:30 just in time for lunch. after lunch we went and learned how to throw a lasso so we could rope the cows. let's just say i wasn't so good at that so i ended up just taking pictures and watching sean do it. he got a calf! i couldn't even really tell at first but luckily i was taking pictures of it. he was so excited. moses was too. he loved watching. he kept going up on that rock with all these strangers. watching with them like it was no big deal. haha. after roping the cows we got back on the horses to take them back out to a different area to graze. we were on the horses that day for probably about 5 hours. let's just say my butt and knees still hurt. it was so much fun though. after this we went back and got ready for the cocktail party which i will post about next... oh and i had to take pictures of the donkeys on the way back. they were so cool. josephine and milton were their names!
