5K, burglars, and a dirty dog.

today has been a great day. we both had the day off. we put up our flag in honor of memorial day and all the fallen soldiers and their families. we have spent a lot of time together. we did some laundry. we made a goal that we are not going to spend any money until our next payday which is next monday. today i just bought some bread, milk, and butter to get us through the week. we do have to get some gas, so we are allowing that. and also we have dinner plans on wednesday night but my parents are going to treat us and count it as my birthday dinner. wish us luck!

so anyway, besides stopping at the grocery store? i went to the gym. maybe i shouldn't have gone. yes. i have been sick. and i haven't been to the gym as much as i would have liked to lately. well a few months back i made the goal to run a 5K in may. that 5K was supposed to be today. well since i wasn't going to be able to make it to that, and may is almost over? i decided that i would do it by myself. i had to do this for me. up until a few weeks ago i was going to the gym almost every single day. i would spend about 30 minutes on the elliptical and about 15-20 on the bike. i never dared brave the treadmill. i am not a good runner. i have had so many foot surgeries that i have just been so afraid to even put a lot of weight on my feet. well i woke up today, feeling much better since my antibiotics have kicked in. i was also feeling so blah because i spent most of the past few days in bed. so i told sean i was going to run my own 5K. he told me that he had no doubt that i could do it. so i did it. i ran a 5K at the gym. haha. i know it's a lot harder to run outside. but i am still proud of myself. i stopped and walked a few times because my side hurt pretty bad, but my feet felt fine! i had a lot of energy. but i also felt like i could puke. my sinuses are draining right now too so it made it a little uncomfortable but it's nice to know that i am getting better. i got to about 25 minutes and i thought i was gonna throw up. i almost gave up but i am so glad that i didn't. i walked for a few minutes and ended up finishing just under 35 minutes. i know that 11 minute miles are not that impressive.. but it was a huge accomplishment for me. 3 months ago? i never would have been able to do that. even if i wasn't sick. it probably would have taken me at least an hour to do that. i beat my goal for the year. and i don't even care that it was just in a gym. i know people do that everyday. people run even more miles than that too. but i am proud of myself!

after the gym i just came home and we lounged around. sean got in the shower and someone knocked on the door. when i came down to see who it was.. no one was there. it kind of freaked me out for some reason and then a hour or so later we found out that someone had broken into the model home right behind our house. they stole a bunch of the furniture in there! gosh. some people. the scary thing was that we saw this lady looking in the windows this morning. we don't have a fence separating our yards yet so this house is literally right behind our house. we thought it seemed suspicious at first, but since it is a model home we just assumed it was a customer or someone that was interested in buying a home. anyway, it kind of freaks me out and just makes me sad that people would do that. we might have to contribute to the police report since we saw people back there. we will see if they call us back about it!

what else did we do today? lets see.. i finished season 1 of Glee today and loved it. we tried to figure out what we could cook for dinner without going to the store. we wanted tacos or burritos but we didn't have tortillas. we were kind of bummed but then i remembered that we had tortilla mix! all you have to do is add water to it and they are so yummy. so we cooked up some tacos and surprisingly had enough stuff in our cupboards and fridge to make it work! sean decided a couple of hours ago to take moses out to the baseball fields behind our house while i got caught up on one tree hill. well when sean came back? he said, "you gotta come see moe." oh crap. we just had to give him good wash a few days ago because he got kind of dirty. well sean said that he found some huge puddles of mud in the baseball field and he just went to town.. he loved it. he even caught it on video, which i will have to upload sometime. anyway, of course i had to get pictures of this. moses HATES baths. he HATES getting wet unless he is the one initiating it. anyway, here are a million pictures. i couldn't stop laughing while taking these. moses was not pleased. at all. he was running in circles the entire time. trying go get away from sean. it was hilarious. i got dizzy watching.

poor moe :)

that kind of thing with burglars freaks me out too, its so upsetting that you can't really see people around without being suspicious anymore...

He seriously looked like a chocolate lab in some of those pictures, he was so dirty! Using the hose is a good idea, we always would stick our dog in the bathtub, the hose is way easier though!

Yeah for the 5k on the treadmill - under 35 is AMAZING! I ran my first 5k after 3 months of training for it...like 3 times a week training and did it in 34 minutes -so you did freaking amazing for not training! You go girl!! And if you ever do a 5k again - let me know - I love races!!!

We had a dog that HATED getting wet, she would bite at the water like it was trying to hurt her.. and we have a dog that absolutely loves it. He'll jump in a big tub of water even if it's 30 degrees outside.

I like what you and Sean are doing about not spending money until your next pay day. I'm being more financially aware too. And I'm sooo sorry to hear about your nasty experience, I'm in a new place by myself and I get a bit scared here...
